Question

Got my 22,500 mile service coming up soon, and dealer has asked if i want to supply my own engine oil as standard supply is very ordinary. Anywhere, ideally in London, where I could get the above or any other like the red Silkolene stuff that Scoobysport supply?
Also what do you lot do when the dealer goes to replace your recently fitted ITG filter with the standard filter. Do you just tell him not to (warranty implications?) or do you go so far as to swap your old one over? Whilst replacing the filter isn't brain surgery it would be a pain in the ****.

Cheers

I have struggled to find the Castrol, the majority view from shops and motor factors was that they had stopped making it. I now use Mobil 1 Motorsport from Halfords.

As for the filter, it depends what your relationship is like with your dealer I guess. I get on well with the dealer I use and just told them to leave it be/ignore it. However not so much of an issue now as I have gone back to the standard Subaru filter following some postings on this BBS about possible MAF sensor contamination. Nothing conclusive was really uncovered so I changed back just for piece of mind.

Ive no problem getting castrol rs 10w 60 from a local motor factors (ireland), I've noticed its also in there new corporate packaging (easy pour my ars3) so i dont think theyve stopped makin it... i reckon the profit margin was too low for halfords, try a smaller supplier...

Cheers

BTW also reccomended was motul 300v which a hi-po bike dealer may stock?

I've seen it in the Demon Tweeks catalogue.......at about £10 more than the local motorfactors

You can obtain Castrol RS 10/60 direct from Castrol classic oils on Tel-01954 231668, I paid £85.07 + VAT for 16 litres and they deliver it direct to your door, they knocked £12.00 off for ordering 16 litres.

They also do Mobile 1 Motorsport at the same price.
