Yes any fully synth 10W-40 in a Classic is highly recommended.

I use the same as Chris above.

Not saying it's crap, as I've never used it, but there must be a difference in quality, as £16 stuff compared to the Millers £50 stuff.....?

At that special offer price, I say get it.

Although never base your oil buying decision purely on price only - you should always fit try and fit the best recommended brands/weights for the EJ turbo engine (regardless of whether its 'expensive' or not). Obviously this is a different situation in that you're getting a proven brand for a special price.

Don't skimp on oil filter though - ONLY get the OEM Subaru item.

Shell Helix semi-synth is the Subaru recommendation I think.

I can't believe Mobil 1 10W-40 is a 'bad' choice (although I'm aware it's not the most popular brand for the Subaru). Most owners seem to opt for Silkolene, Millers & Motul from what I've gleaned.

But "the oil question" is the most contentious one re the Subaru engine and will run and run and run (there's a tenuous, unintentional pun in there somewhere)...
