Default Engine rebuild........what?

My car is going to need an engine rebuild, so what should I have done? it' running a LINK remap, anbd already has a full decat, and V6 STi intercooler.

I THINK the three choices are:
1. Standard rebuild...........something I'k unlikely to do, given what has happened.

2. Forged half engine. Maybe? Would I also be better, at the same time, sourcing some STi heads and cams plus the inlet manifold for them? Seen them on e-bay anywhere from £200 to £600

3. 2.5 litre rebuild.........what does this entail, and who does it? Would it use my standard heads etc, or as above?

I know there's a fourth option, source an unknown engine and fit it, but tbh, I reckon it's a bit dodgy. You just don't know what you are getting, and could be buying more trouble, then paying someone to fit it.

Can someone take the time to suggest any other options, and explain numbers 2 and 3 above, please?

TIA

2.5 bottom end can be bought as per the current WRX motor, £1700 approx. then fit your heads, etc and get 300 bhp and 360ft.lb. of torque.

2.1 stroker from Mr. Jeffery, forged piston plus suitable rods plus a 2.5 crank, gives better low down torque, and spools up your turbo even quicker....

Your heads won't be a problem till well past 400 bhp, you aren't heading there ? Are you !

Not that I'm complaining....

If I go the Mr Jeffery route, does that entail DIY? ie: Do I remove split, rebuild etc my engine?
