Hawkeye WRX Wagon Tuning
Right decided to get shot of the Legacy tourer and move to a Hawkeye WRX wagon.
I'm used to a 400 BHP Honda S2000 so I need more than 225 BHP
What I don't want is a loud unreliable car that cost me a fortune.
So I need some advice to get ~300 BHP out of it and still keep it as a daily drive.
So far I worked out!:
Cold air feed to standard airbox (not sure on the detail yet)
Panel filter (K&N/Green?) I presume these are cleanable?
Decat up pipe (H&S/classic?)
Decat down pipe (H&S?)
Sport cat (Prodrive/H&S?) I want to pass an MOT
Mild back box not too noisey (not sure which one!)
NGK PFR7B plugs
Walbro 255 fuel pump
JGM/ECUtek remap
Maybe (if I'm feeling brave)
STi TMIC with scope & tray
sti 550 fuel injectors
sti turbo
I'll get on to the handling shortly

You can make good improvements to the handling for next to nothing - rear droplinks and ARB makes a big difference, and don't ignore the brakes. A pad upgrade would be a worthwhile start.

if you want hassle free mot emissions then sportscat downpipe needed..
quiet echausts or quietish but nice noise still - revolution or miltek
the torque is the biggest gain on the standard turbo 340lb and about 280bhp..

One quick Q - doesn't the WRX have a cat in the uppipe?
To add to the quiet but decent sounding backboxes - Subaru WR Sport, which is oval, or the Prodrive, which is very similar but round. I've had both, the WR Sport sounds a little fruitier on startup, the prodrive sounds better on full chat (IMHO).

Great feedback guys thanks very much!
No need to touch the up pipe then!
So am I right in thinking I need decat down pipe and centre sports cat (plus the back box)
Other than Prodrive anyone good for the cat?
I know the STi TMIC upgrade is a good idea on the "blobs" is that also true on the "hawks"?
I'll edit the first post to add a final list.
BTW sold the Legacy today as well!

Is there any point in cooling the plugs at this level
Are there any effective cold air intakes or is it a waste of money?
Looking forward to parking it next to this!
