help with knocking noise
new to the forum so hope im in the rite place
ive just got a 51 plate scooby wrx wagon and their is a slight clunking noise coming from somwere near the front,ive been told its probally the anti roll bar links can anyone tell me the best place around leeds west yorks to get this checked out and give me an idea what it will cost if this is what it is

The shocks don't normally go on the front it's the back that's more susceptible on the new age models IIRC.
You don't say when the noise occurs. Is it constant, only when the car goes over bumps, only forwards or backwards? See if you can provide a bit more info and a few people will probably offer some sound advice.
Metallic whirring constant, noticeable at low speed might be a bearing.
Knocking could be a damaged shock, drop links, bushes, or even something loose.
Worst case scenario like the man above said, piston slap, broken engine mount or something. See if you can work out where it's coming from and when it's most noticeable.

i had a knocking from the front a few months ago,it turned out that the exhaust company that fitted my sports cat had left a bolt between the front crossmember and engine which just banged whenever i went over a bump
