help....rounding caliper bolt

Default help....rounding caliper bolt

changing the discs/ pads on the wrx bug eye and one caliper bolt wont ****ft....tried the old wd40 but no luck....now bolt is starting to round off....any help wot i can do?

if you have f++ked it so now a spanner or scoket wont work anymore find an imperial socket thats i tight fit and hammer it on so its a nice fit, you will prob need a new bolt after.

try putting back the other bolts so takes some weight off the nacked one if and when you get something to get it out....or its an easy out kit you will need to buy

wots the easy out kit?failed with everything to shift it, so put old pads back in and going to run it down the coachworks in morning and hope they can shift it

you have to drill a hole down the centre of the bolt and get/buy the right size easy out, it has sort of a backward tapper thread on it so as it gose down the hole it locks in and unwinds the bolt out

same thing as a tapper tap what makes threaded holes in metal but dose it opposit

This will work a treat. Plus plenty WD40. Dont leave this one till last though. Keep the other one tight and undo the knackered one first.

think gone passed that stage....head of bolt is now a new shape....kinda cross between a square and a triangle!

Drill the head off completely then take the caliper and disc off together, then you can get caliper on bench to remove rest of stud.

all done now thanks and 40 quid lighter! i didnt have the kit to do it so had to seek help
