It's really up to you....I have no ABS and nor does my mate's RA but obviously we can both lock up the brakes if your not careful. I didn't even notice that my car didn't have ABS for the first few months of ownership. I'm happy it doesn't as I can get more feel for the braking in my opinion.

I feel that the ABS on the classic bakes the brakes crap (to be fair the ABS doesnt work properly anyway, i was locking the rear up all the time on track, and only works when it feels like working.)

I take your mate removed the ABS himself? is it a case of just removing the abs modual and linking the pipes back up to eachother?

My mate's car is a JDM STi RA V-limited and came as standard without ABS and mine is a JDM WRX and also came as standard without ABS. I only found out on my car when I noticed that I didn't have the ABS module....the seller (private) thought it had ABS??
I would of thought removing the module and re-routing the pipes is the way to go but I'm unsure if theres something electrical that may have to be disconnected???
Bound to save you some weight too removing the module

Early cars will have a 4 port master cylinder, whereas new cars have a 2 port ones, unless non abs as standard.

I would recommend that you have some sort of adjustable bias valve in there so as to set the front rear braking correctly.

Next time you go out on track why not pull the ABS fuse and see how it goes... you can always put the fuse back in if your prefer it with ABS.

I dont rate ABS if you know what to do in a lock up suituation its not needed anyway... it basically designed for the people that think once they locked up they feel the need to hit the brakes harded as its still not stopping which obviously just keeps the wheels locked and then they crash.

I went on a speed awareness course and the guy there was slating ABS saying it doesnt work as it increases braking distance which is true... but decreasing braking distance was not what its made to do, he wasnt to pleased when I made a point of this

Anyway... lol

Leave it in if you drive it to and from the venue. IMHO

Dump it if you can trailer it.

Boring waffle ahead mode/

ABS saved me once as some blind bint pulled halfway across the road infront of me, the road was damp and I braked heavily still expecting her to keep going.... and then she stopped, I calmly steered round her nose and back before hitting the car waiting at the T-junction. I was so relieved to miss I kept going, with three dogs in the back it could have got messy.

Naa its gonna be put on a trailer (when i get me hands on one) Do you feel any difference if you just pull the fuse to say remove the whole abs unit?

I do want to remove the abs, but im worried that i brake one of the pipes, the whole thing needs replacing.
