Default Struggling over 3000rmp sputter cough cough!!

Well this has been going on for a few weeks now.
My00 developed a kind of stutter at low revs so i checked error codes but everything was ok. Week later, the car starts to cough splutter at low revs, sometimes it was ok sometimes not ok. Anyway, put some more fuel in her as it had just gone below quarter mark and she decided to drive ok but the stutter was still there. Checked codes again, nothing, so i though what the hell, be on the safe side buy a new maff, lambda, plugs, fuel filter, oil filter and oil. Drove around for hour or so (after reset), stutter gone all running sweet. Yesterday driving back from a day out starts to struggle under 3000/3200rpm, its now hunting like its maff failure but some times idles fine, then all of a sudden goes back to running like **** arhhhhhhh. Well noticed the fuel had gone below the quarter mark again so i limped to the garage and filled up BUT that dint help one bit.
Any ideas guys?? For the record it has plugs, maff, lambda fuel filter oil filter, oil change. The injectors are nismo 550cc 8months old from new.
Has the usual mods front mount etc, the oil/water is ok and doesn't smoke.

Thanks in advance

Remapped for the mods?
If so, could be the Maf or a coil pack, but you really need to take her to a garage if you want it sorting, we can only hazzard a guess what it is and that could cost you a packet in changing everything, oh and what MY00 is it? uk turbo? P1? JDM wrx or JDM STI?

Yes it has been remapped and has been fine for at least a year. MY00 2000. I have changed the maff, brought from api and has covered around 500 miles.

Could it be a fuel problem??

I'd look at getting new leads.

Can you mod that far without a remap and expect it to run ok? I would have thought going as far as a FMIC and bigger injectors would require a remap.

Its been remapped for all added mods and has been fine. Think i might have to take her to the garage, as tony said, could be chasing and replacing parts for no reason

Definitely the time to have it diagnosed with a Select Monitor/Delta Dash or similar. As you say you're flying in the dark at the moment - looking at the sensor inputs while the car is running will likely clue you in pretty quick.

Quick update,, fitted a new walbro fuel pump today and has solved the problem, the old one was 5years old and must of been failing.

Thanks for the replies

We have changed a number of 255 Walbros this year that have 'failed ' They seem to last last less than 2 years these days before they start playing up.

We now only fit 300's, which are a better, stronger pump and are perhaps not working so hard. They are a bit of a fiddle to fit compared to the 255, but worth it in the long run.

Maybe some change in the additives in the fuel is rotting out the pump impeller blades or something like that?

I know that E85 is pretty nasty stuff and can rot through regular fuel hose if you are not careful. It's worth considering upgrading fuel hoses quality on cars that run any percentage of additive whether E85 or old fashioned octane booster - just to save the potential of fire risk.
