Default Numpty Twin Scroll Q

I don't understand them...

Are they just one turbo, or are there 2 of them?

Cheers

It's one turbo with two separate inlets to the exhaust wheel (and thus, two wastegates) instead of one. Plenty already written so search is your friend.

Thanks for that.

Have just been reading about them, and found this good mag article.

Still wasn't sure if it was one or two turbos though. Think the twin turbos of the Legacy's was throwing me

They sound like they work really well. Only con I can see is the equal length headers

Cheers

Great article that, explains it well - know what you mean about the equal length manifold though, I'd be keen to keep the Scooby burble too

The burble is nice for sure, and that is what you hear and live with the most. My missus and my dog know when I'm home (as well as the neighbor!) - the pulsing vibration fills the house

However, I'm sure you still get the roaring, fuel pouring, splatter at 5-7.5K rpm

I think you will find it only has one wastegate.

You know more about 'em than I do Shaun, but is that always the case?

Is that one flapper covering a single ovoid aperture, or one flapper covering two discrete round holes?

OK.... see what you mean mate.

It's a single mechanism, which is what I was referring to.
