Default RGENT HELP REGARDING OEM DUMPVALVE

Hi all. i've decided to scrap my hks ssqv cause i'm sick of all the jerkiness involved!! i've put back the original and its not working! it was in full working order before i removed it. i've tried fitting it with the arrow in different directions but still no joy. when it was on and fitted, you could hear a slight whoosh as the air released but wasn't loud but today i can't hear anything. i want to make sure everything is ok as i don't want to damage anything. any help is greatly appreciated as i need to go out this evening. cheers.

The embossed arrow should point AWAY form the IC and TOWARDS the recirc port on the turbo intake hose.

You shouldn't hear anything with the OEM one as it dumps the air directly into that port mentioned, and not into the engine bay. You may hear it dumping very faintly, but anything more, then suspect a split in the DV casing or the turbo hose's recirc port.

It's highly unlikely that it's now not working - no reason to suggest it was broken upon removing it initially.

I'd reset the ECU, as it may have learnt to adjust the fuelling (although it probably won't have) for the SSQV BOV i.e. reduced the fuelling to compenste for the SSQV not recirc'ing the air back into the intake.

Once you check and do all of the above, you should be good to go...

Also, if that white joiner in the DV's vac hose ISN'T a T-piece and being used for a gauge (indeed it looks like just a straight coupler), then remove it and replace the 2 bits of vac hose with one single piece...

Sorry, skimmed the last pic .

Yes, it's on back to front - turn it round.

As said, if no splits anywhere, you SHOULDN'T hear any VTA-syle whoosh noise anway - this is normal with the OEM recirc'er.

I have no idea why it would have been making an obvious whooshing noise before ... unless of course it wasn't fitted into the recirc port. You sure it wasn't your imagination lol

Ahhh, it was prob the open cone/mushroom of the IK that was allowing you to hear the dumping of the air back into the intake!

Unless of course you have any splits/cracks anywhere between air intake and throttle body...

Yes all should be fine - make sure it's fitted with arrow pointing to recirc port on the turbo's intake hose, though...
