Question Classic Weight Recuction

Right then all, with santa pod looming on the 9th, im after stripping some weight from the car to try and get as quick time as possible whilst on standard management, boost, turbo etc

Now to date i have removed the space saver, jack, back seats and aircon.

Im now stuck as to what else i can (safely) remove that will make any difference.

Cheers in advance all

Passenger seat if you not taking someone...

Maybe the spoiler too, not hard to remove and might reduce drag

Rear speakers are easy to remove.

cheers guys. Will have a passenger so unfortunately that will have to remain. What kind of quarter should i be looking to achieve?? I know how to get a car to shift at the pod, but not sure what to be aiming for time wise. Car is more or less a standard STI Version 3 albeit with full exhaust from turbo back with cats removed and HKS filter

cheers all

Passenger seat, take it out when you run. Only 4 bolts, personally **** 'em

Besides you will need a ride home from your would be passenger if your break it

Lighter wheels, better brakes are lighter than standard, aftermarket seats.

Cheaper than all that may just be a bigger turbo and a tweak

you could save a load by changing the subaru suspension. my car went on a crash diet last year. the suspension struts in a standard subaru are really heavy. i replaced them with AST coilovers. about 15KG a corner i reckon (some one can correct me if i am wrong). expensive option though

steve mate dont tempt me :P Trying to leave the engine untouched until the dire winter months arrive then it will time to be searching for some more ponnies

Not going to go big power like yourself mate, but a nice usuable 450bhp will be plenty for what im looking for...........for now

I'm down to 1220kg with half a tank, thats soundproofing gone interior gone, full cage tho.

Still a bit to do, strip the front and rear doors remove the aircon, so probs another 50-70kg at an estimate

I'd be surprised if stripping the doors and aircon would give you that much. Try fibreglass or carbon doors, bonnet and boot if you're serious.

Nah dont need to waste my time on shonky doors, when the std ones fit so well.

Plenty of weight in the door bars and leccy window mechanisms, plus ill just zip gun the entire door card area away leaving nothing.

Aircon weighs a ton...... It becomes obsolete soon any way as it will get in the way of the throttle body soon to be mounted at the front.

Oh carbon bonnets weigh more than std ali ones FYI
