Default White smoke

Hi there, wondering if someone can help me, my subaru 2001 wrx has started to give off white smoke from the exhaust, its not all the time but it seems to be getting alittle worse, now i looked at my water and in the radiator and noticed the water was brown, so i cleaned it all out and its still giving off white smoke from exhaust, but like i say its not all the time. Anybody got any ides. Could it be the turbo.

Sound's like signs of a head gasket. See if the oil and water is mixing. Open the oil cap and look in dipstick and if you have any creamy mayonnaise type gunge then its probably on its way out. The smoke appears when oil/water seeps into the combustion chamber and your oil gets burnt so u get white/blue smoke from the exhaust. Are you losing water and oil??

There is no white gunge in oil cap etc, also im not losing any oil or water. If it was the head gasket, what price im i looking at to get it repaired.

Is it in the colder hours of the day? In the winter I get a bit of condensation in my exhaust fumes, not terribly white, and I was worried about it but I was told its normal. I checked my expansion and the water was clean, no gunk as yours is.

So its not looking good then, i was going to sell this car, not sure what to do for the best, (1 break it (2 sell it the way it is or fix it and sell it.
Anybody got any ideas on a price i should sell it for repaired and un repaired. Or should i cut my losses and break it, just seems a shame to break it.

One fluid must contaminate the other though, if not, where is the need for gaskets? Either gunk in the oil, or in thr coolant, there has to be one. As for the smoke, foxy, was it thick? Sounds like a nightmare for burty if it is the gaskets.
