Default help, oil pressure ?

Hi im in need of some advice or help my prob is

I bought some pro sport gauges (electrical: oil press, oil temp, water temp) and sanwich plate, i have just changed oil and filter today and wired up gauges, but now my oil pressure gauge is telling me its low and beeping when warm and idleing, how ever car sounds fine, car runs fine and pulls strong, and when car is driving it says the oil pressure is fine.

could my problem be the gauges or engine?

also my car is a 98 turbo 2000 if matters

How low is low m8? if it is indeed low its a good chance the screws on the back of your oil pump have come loose so its not pumping very well. I had this on my car when i first got it and fitted gauges. If so get it sorted asap.

You may have the warning set too high. What is the pressure at hot idle?

at cold tickover the guage reads 90 psi at hot tickover it is less than 10 and keeps beeping red however i have been on a few journeys in the 6 weeks i have owned the car and there is no rattles taps or any nasty noises.is it the guage frightening me or the positioning of the sensor or am i in deep doo doo that i wouldn't have known about without the guage, help?

under 10 at idle is a little low but that doesnt mean the guage is accurate, Can you adjust at what level the warning beep works at?

i dont think i can alter the gauge mate,is this ok then as the engine seems to have had work done ,ie ther is gasket compound on most of the visible gaskets, rocker covers sump etc.i have had no worries with the engine what so ever until i put this gauge on and now i am at my wits end wishing i hadn't fitted it,cheers tony?

at idle mines 2.5 bar(about 36psi) when hot and 7 bar(about 100psi)when cold.
this is useing 10/40 semi oil.

As i said mate i had exact same symptoms as you ....take it to a garage and get them to put a guage on it to check if yours is faulty ,........ but i have to say im confident its the screws on the plate on the back of the oil pump have worked loose ,its a common fault.

The oil pump is driven by the crank so its a cambelt off job im afraid. As said id get another gauge to test it first on the remote chance that u have a faulty gauge but i doupt its that.BTW mine was adleing at about 0.8 bar when hot ...after 3 bar.
