As Andy put - Version 3~4 or UK '97/98.
Unlikely to be forged pistons in the pics as its an Open Deck Block with Composite head gaskets.

The STi Forged pistons for the Version 3~4 have a smooth underside of the crown and marked HF/1/2/3/4.
The standard cast pistons will have cross hatching under the crown.
Version 1 ~ 2 came with cast "dogbones" for the wrx and forged HF dogbones for the STi.

Version 3~4 cast (left) and STi Forged on the right.

Version 1~2 Dogbone's crawling off my bench
