Illustrated engine pic?
I have removed what I believe is my crankcase breather hose, that feeds into the air intake.
Now I have an issue that the engine wont idle, so presume thats my problem, but is there an illustrated pic of an Impreza engine on here?
I have looked- the classic catch can guide isnt helpful either, as mine is a 98, and cant see the pipe on that guide!
Cheers

Sure.
Well it's bound to be the intake's, now open, port that's causing idle issues, as it'll be affecting the measured air mass by the MAF... i.e. the MAF will have measured the air mass prior to the intake pipe, then some of this measured air is now escaping via that port, so the ECU will be overfuelling, causing your idling problem.
You need to get a metal or plastic bung of appropriate diameter to plug the now redundant port. I'd also use a jubilee clip around the port pipe to hold the bung in place as added insurance.

gents- appreciate the offers.
Joz- the intake pipe was properly blocked- Im not quite that dozy
It was the pipe coming out of the engine that was open.
Short answer- its now reconnected and running well (well slowly until JGM arrives tomorrow)
Daone- offer much appreciated

... so I inevitably put 2 and 2 together.
