Default Another exhaust question, simple one

Guys im wanting to get a full 2.5" exhaust from turbo back with no cats but i want a silencer on the centre pipe.

My question is can i use the standard Subaru centre pipe seen as its 2.5" bore with a silencer on it or is there something wrong with doing this?

My plan is to run a H&S or Prodrive back box with 2.5" bore decat pipes and standard centre pipe then remap.

Can anyone see a problem with this and if so what?

Also my Nur spec R is for sale in the general section.

Thanks

i cant see an issue with running the standard resonated centre section both the prodrive and H & S backbox will attach to it.

the prodrive will be the quieter of the two but to be honnest..if you replace the resonated centre section with a deresonated one there wont be much difference in noise only slightly, so you may aswell get a full system

What isthe benefit of a full system then?

I think i'll do the above and then replace the centre section just for the hell of it when i have spare cash!

if your decat from the turbo back you're going to have to replace the cat in the up pipe for a decat aswell if you went for a sportscat down pipe it could stay

a full system, including decats will increase the bhp when combined with a remap, you will see a big (noticeable) difference in power and torque, and the full system will flow the gasses much better.

beware though, decatting will increase the volume of the exhaust

i was led to believe you should decat the uppipe aswell for safety reasons ie the cat disintergrating under higher temps and going into the turbo

that can happen but if its mapped safely for the set up you have then it shouldnt be a problem.

Have had a look at the Scooby sports site, look really impressive actually, think i might go for the back box and down pipe, can i de-cat and then remap or do i have to wait untill i can fford remap and then put them on ready for it?

I heard you can't de-cat untill your ready to remap or????

you can but it can cause issues like over boost and and fueling issues..ide reccomend a remap asap after decatting if not at the same tile.. you may get the CEL lighting up on the dash too (i didnt though)

you can get them between £65 - £80 ish...its recomended to upgrade to to keep the fuel pumping to the requirments after the remap.

fitting the fuel pump isnt all that hard just go onto www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk and there is a step by step guide on how to change it yourself. i did my own
