tmic= top mounted intercooler
is it a classic?
i am doing this at the weekend, im fitting a version6 tmic depends if you have the earlyshape like mine wrx (95) where the space is very timited so its a tight fit even for the version 6 sti intercooler, you have to cut the lips off the tmic and the trottle body. the newer classic shape you can squeeze in a sti 8 intercooler wich is much better and has higher tolerences.

Bolts straight on mate, the wrx mounting bracket near the turbo is the same as the STI bracket, if you have a look you will see an extra bolt hole for the bigger intercooler, any newage STI intercooler should go straight on

It fits but offers practically nothing other than a 100 rpm earlier spool.
The scoop and or scoop undertray would also be needed.
Doesn't need remapping.
