Default bug-eye hiccup #2

after sharing my problem i had with a low speed hiccup i took advice and changed the plugs tonite and re-fitted the original air box.results?well it was much quieter but it did seem to have a lot more torque.i could be wrong but it just felt it pulled better.also seemed smoother after fitting the plugs.the test drive was only short so il wait and see if all ok longterm.anyway my question is,should i fit a foam/cotton panel filter to compliment the exhaust (keeping airbox)or could/should i modify the airbox itself.i always thought freeing up the engines breathing in & out was the first step to modifying.ive heard different oppinions especially in the impreza world.comments appreciated.

Have the plugs fixed the problem?

Also before you changed the plugs was the car a bit shakey when idleing?

Ive got the same problem on my bugeye, it also hiccups at low spped especially when acclerate from a low rev.

what plugs did you use?

Thanks

I have a bit of a shakey idle too, but no hiccups, the plugs were changed by subaru less than 2000 miles ago. I'm worried its the hfm spitting it's dummy out and causing incorrect fueling!!

My revs are perfect at idle

Do your revs go up and down?

Sorry cube, i mean the Air mass meter. The revs aren't exactly going up and down, but they do ever so slightly fluctuate ( i mean like there is an ever so small "hick" in the revs that arent even noticable on the rev needle, every 10 or so seconds at idle ) Otherwise the car feels perfectly smooth, either when under load or holding revs.

i have this on my classic and its def not my maf. ive changed the coil packs to get rid of the hesitation. it can be a leak on the i.c pipes that caused the blip in idle or so im told just check them all

ive only done about 50 miles since plug change but no hiccups yet.the idle is ok although its always had a very slight fluttery character.my legacy is the same so i just put it down to the 'agricultural' type engine .one difference is when i start engine from hot after a it being off for a few mins say when you pop into the petrol station etc,it doesnt rock like a big v8,plugs seemed to have cured it, that and the airbox.plugs were subaru recomended ngk pfr6b platinum.£30.
