Since having my 93 WRX serviced which included an ITG filter, I have been experiencing a slight hiccup or missfire at low revs. Before the service it was happy to pull away in 2nd or while in traffic just slipping the clutch in 2nd but now it has a slight hiccup before it pulls away. Doesnt seem to have a problem once youre accelerating normally - just when your sort of labouring the engine. Any ideas about what it could be would be much appreciated. Cheers jase

A coil pack is probably failing. The insulation deteriorates with the heat from the c-head. I changes mine on a '95 STI last year.

Check the oil level. If it is higher than half way between the 2 marks then there is probably too much in it and it can contaminate the wastegate solenoid, producing a misfire. Common after a service.

Do you then have to clean the solenoid or does it disperse ?
Where is the wastegate solenoid ?

Cheers
