Daren,

The Lambda sensor is screwed into your exhaust somewhere. On my MY99 STI Type-R it on the exhaust downpipe by the turbo and below the intercooler. Not sure if its in the same place on yours. Just follow your exhaust back from the engine until you see the sensor with wires coming from it.

Hope this helps,

Craig.

I thought on the early cars its on either the headers of the up-pipe.

Dan,

I have a MY95 WRX & it's in the manifold behind the drivers side front wheel as Scott mentioned above. Not that hard to find. Not sure about early UK models though.

On early UK's it's on the Downpipe just below the intercooler, the same place as the later models.

Well it is on my MY94.

My Sti has a FGK Downpipe and has 2 O2 Sensors, one at the top next to the turbo and one at the bottom of the down pipe.

Bottom one is a two wire item without heater and the top one is a three wire with a heater. I had a hell of a problem trying to find out what wire was what as you can damage the sensor very easily, unless you have a high impedence VM, although while sitting on the ****ter yesterday it occured to me that if you disconect it and with the ignition on you can measure +12v across the engine side connector so you know the other wire is the 0-1V signal wire.

May help anyone who is fitting an AFR gauge

On the early WRX it is in the manifold behind the drivers side front wheel.

On UK's it is in the exhaust down pipe. The Downpipe, I would think, should come with a blanking plug to block off the un-used connection.

Oxygen Sensor / Lambda Sensor is the same thing.

Price UK about £115 genuine or NTK (NGK) equivelant £70
WRX (with the required longer cable) £170

Or about £25 from Grade A Brakers
