Default Brake upgrade

My car is a 98MY uk spec turbo with the standard 2 pot calipers. I'm used to 4 pots on my last few fast cars and I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to these. Am I right in thinking that the Subaru 4 pots will fit my car, and fit under the standard 16 inch alloys? Also, if I find a set of calipers, which Goodridge hoses would I want? Are the rear brakes the same on the cars with 2 and 4 pot brakes? I believe my car has solid rear discs at the mo, an 277mm fronts.

Cheers

Yes, Subaru 4 pots will fit, along with discs/pads.

260mm rears if they are solid or 266mm if they are vented (changed 1998).

We have some great offers on discs and pads at the moment. Just PM me or email aztecperformance@gmail.com

See, my car's kinda weird like that. It was registered 04/01/99 so you'd expect it to be a late '98 build but I'm sure it has solid rear discs, just like it has the older, rarer and much more expensive MAF (dammit!) and the wider old-style front indicators.

I'm thinking that if I am going to upgrade the discs, pads and calipers on the front, it would be daft not to upgrade to braided hoses at the same time. But can anyone tell me whether the solid and vented rear discs take different hoses? i.e., if I were to buy a set intended for cars with 4 pot front brakes, which I assume would normally be paired with vented rear discs on a car of this age, would the rear hoses not fit my car with solid rear discs?

Yes, braided lines are well worthwhile. Can sort you the correct braided lines to fit your setup

Right, got those brakes. Will check the condition of the discs and pads when they arrive and see what bits I need from you - might need to wait until next month though as a Cat 1 alarm is on the shopping list this week too, so I'm pretty skint!

Could you give me a shout when you're back open for business please, so I can get those hoses?

Cheers
