Im currently having built a 2.1 striker engine Closed Deck Block similar spec to Engine Tuners kit. The current turbo is a VF35, which I know will run out of puff before it hits 350 bhp.

I have seen for sale a VF22, would this be any good for more bhp or will there be too much lag.

Any advice welcome.

I'd personally look out for a 2nd hand TD05 20g. Will be really good value for money and is a 380-400 turbo, so will future proof you to quite a degree. If you want to run it at its potential though, you WILL need a front mount and 740+ cc injectors; large cone K&N (and big MAF if not MAFless)...

Obviously it won't spool quite as quick a VF35 - or even a VF22 - but you still should make full boost of 1.5-1.6bar by 4k rpm at the very latest. In any case it should still make 1bar of boost by 3.0-3.5k anyway!
