Few questions regarding door cards and speakers
Howdy All
First question whats the standard speakers on a Subaru. I have a Kenwood cd player which is 4x45w and on 65-75% volume theres a load of distortion. Anyone recommend a better set of speakers that will fit a MY01 classic wagon.
Secondly how do you remove the door panel lol!!! I took out 4 screws but have no idea where the pins are to wedge it off, any advice much appreciated :P

Do what I've done and fit one of these. Fits perfectly transversly in the space under the passenger seat!:-
Ripspeed PSR-135A Subwoofer from Halfords Price £39.90
This active sub's phonos except either hi-level speaker input or, if your HU has them, low-level pre-out input.
On the HU, and if it has the pre-outs, set the external sub vol/gain level to max, and the crossover setting to off.
On the sub itself, flick the crossover switch to on, and rotate the crossover **** to min.
Then just set your HU EQ's "BASS" or "LOW" setting to 1/2 to 3/4, to relieve the bass going through the inadequate OEM speakers, to alleviate the distortion.
This underseat sub - certainly for the money! - really does underpin the sound with decent bass (albeit it not really being of audiophile hi-fidelty)

I've just checked your manual online:-
http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/...C-237_(EN).pdf
It hasnt got any pre-out round the back so you'd have to splice in extra wires to the speaker loom's rear speakers' R +/- and L +/- wires...
