Question Has Anyone Fitted An Electric Power Steering Pump To A Classic Impreza?

Hi all,

I'm looking into fitting an electric power steering pump to my Impreza.

Thing is I don't know the first thing about this conversion. Where can I get the pump from? can I use one from a different car? What will I need to do the conversion. How is it done?

Other than space under the bonnet, is there any benift to the conversion?

Any help will be greatly received?

Cheers for that, I've had a look and the actual equipment of eBay is pennies in comparison to the demon tweek stuff.

Has anyone actually done this mod? How did you go about it?

I'm looking into reverse mounting my inlet and reducing the lenght of my FMIC pipework. Think is with reverse mounting the inlet I'd have to lose the aircon, but if I fit an electric pump I can keep the aircon.

Just thinking about it at the moment. If it is a fairly easy process and doesn't cost too much I'm happy to have a play.

Save your money and your time by not reversing the inlet, spend the difference on a decent rotated turbo kit.

Thats one option I'm toying with too. But I can't find a twisted up and down pipe that is recommended that also within my price range. I was thinking H&S kit but as you can see from my thread link below its not been received all that well.

If you don't worry about reversing the manifold you can afford the RCM rotated kit.

Ha Ha, almost. I was lucky enough to buy a revere mount inlet already converted off eBay for £22.32. The chap listed it in the wrong section.

I've already had it check out by Special Scoobies and it a perfect fit and good conversion. So bar a few bits and peices the reverse of the inlet wouldn't cost me a thing.

The more I think about it, I'm inclined to twist the turbo (When I find a kit) and reverse the flow of the pipework and flip the FMIC so the inlet and exit ports are at the top, this won't be far off the lengh of pipework I would get from reverse mounting the inlet anyway.
