Default Ecutek Tek2

Hi All,

I have a MY99 with the current set up:

TD04 Soon to be replaced with a front entry if i can find one at a decent price
Walbro 255 fuel pump
FMIC
HKS induction kit
Full stainless exhaust including de-cat
(i think the MY99 has 440cc injectors as standard)

My question is i want it mapped but with what? The obvious route is an Ecutek for cost.

What is an ecutek tek2 ECU. Is this simply a pre-programmed ECU that is not mappable? What will be the cost of getting this custom mapped? Does it come with a "tuner license" where the only cost i would be liable for is remap charges as opposed to software aswell. What state of mods would the tek2 be good for? What power gains etc can be seen from fitting the tek2? Will the ecu work with my current TD04 as well as the TD05?

Apologies for all the questions but ecu mapping etc is definately not my forte...

Thanks in advance gents

your in exactly the same boat as me, i have a my 99 with the same mods, the only other thing i have got fitted is a fmic. im going to upgrade my turbo next before i get a remap, going for a td05 or vf35.
the tek2 doesent carry the mapping licence, it just raises boost slightly to 1.1 bar from the standard .96 bar.
your better off like me saving up for a remap (around £550) for the first map.
on the upside atleast we both have a 99 model which can be remapped lol.
