Here are the promised TEK2 results. The dotted solid line is the original ECU and the dotted line is the TEK2 program. Notice the improvement in the torque curve!! It pulls a lot better at top end now. Just need a visit to Ecutek to get them to turn up the boost a little and I will be even happier.

Car- MY00, 23k miles, ITG air filter, full scoobysport exhaust with downpipe, always run on optimax and in-line octane booster aswell.

Rolling road- Powerstation in Cheltenham, fitted Eibachs and did bumpsteer mod same day. Thanks guys!! (Temp: 21/22 degrees)

Original reading were not very impressive but the point of this was to show the TEK2 improvements which are clearly visable.

My opinion - TEK2 is a good way of getting power reliably and easily. No mapping on-site mapping involved; just get it, plug it in and off you go. Must get a boost gauge to see what i am running.

Note: The TEK2 had only done about 60 miles when this rolling road was done. It has been said that it takes up to 300 miles for the ECU to allow boost to reach it optimum levels.

Thanks to Matt Churchill who managed to take 5 miniutes out of his busy schedule to pop down to see me that day. Loved the Delfi gauges mate, bit pricey though!! Will definatley be getting the Godspeed brakes when I have a spare £500.

P.S. Get them stone chips sorted before they get too bad!!!!

Neil.

Sorry the bottom got cut off.

The bottom curve is the power drag and the second curve up is the power at the wheels.

Question

Do seem pretty low those figures. I'd have thought you would get those figures with just the exhaust and the filter. Although looking at some of the other PowerStation results they seem to get relatively low figures. Does it feel quicker on the road?

How much was the bumpsteer mod?

Neil,

Power stations RR shows quite a bit less than other RRs. I'm sure on PEs RR you will get similar results to the other Tek2 cars if you take it and get it RR'd there.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Weird figures i must say.
I mounted my TeK2 upgrade 2 days ago.
Together with 3" de-cat cobra-neck downpipe, K/N inductionkit
i ran 3 runs with G-tech
0-100 km/h 4.78s
0-402 @ 12.89 and 180km/h(111.5mph), 13.10, and 13.13 for the last run.

Compare this to the same car totally original, same g-tech hardware
i made 0-100km/h at 5.75s and 0-402m at 13.89 and some runs just above 14 secs.

My professional guess is around 280hp

Question

IMHO you'll be getting 15-20 BHP more at PE's rollers. That makes about 255-260bhp which is about right for a tek2 and your mods!

I know the figures are down a little but the main point of the day was to see that the TEK2 was doing its job, and it is.

The car is definatly quicker on the road but not by much. It pulls a lot better up in the rev range but I was expecting more power.

As for the bumpsteer mod I cannot really tell. I don't really take the car to the limit that often round the corners. I will see next friday when I take it to Castle Coombe.

Cool

Neil, good to see you the other day.

Wouldn't fret too much for the reasons already said. PE always seems to give higher figs, which is accurate is anyone's guess.

The difference when I got my SS DP and centre from juct the BB was amazing on the road, but not significant on the rollers.

Think you simply have to go on how it feels. Also, it was quite warm on the day which would probably suppress figs.

From all the figures which get used on hear and those that are n the Dyno site, I think you can only compare cars omn the same day, or the difference it makes to yours on one day.

Also, peak figs aren't the key, it's what it does on the way .

Matt
PS Leave my stone chips out of this
