Classic De-cat downpipe advise
I'm thinking about getting a decat down pipe for my99 uk turbo. I've already got a decat magnex centre pipe.
If I fit a downpipe would I need a remap??
I'm not sure what size my centre pipe is, but can you fit a 3" to a 2.5"?
Is there anything else I need to know.
Thanks in advance.
Marc

Otherwise fit a Sports Cat downpipe - they are only £294 for a Ninja and pass MOTs on their own. Mine easily passed again this week when cold - third year in a row. I also have a Magnex centre decat and backbox.
Doubt you will need a remap just as you have swapped the downpipe.
However if you have never had a remap, just swapping the exhaust/panel filter and remapping will see about 270-280. My first remap gave me 273/273 with the above mods.

Thanks for yor replies.
I havn't had a remap before although I am thinking about it soon. I wanted to get as many parts sorted out before so the expence won't be so much when I do get it done.
Stix I noticed your from south wales where/who did you get your remap???
p.s just noticed my spelling mistake in the title.

Powerstation did my first one - very pleased with that for 3 years.
Two weeks ago Bob Rawle did my current map and extremely pleased with it so far. It was part of a Group Buy on here. Keep your eye on the Wales section & Group Buy section!

Fitted full 3" decat on my 2000 turbo n induction kit. Took it for remap. B4 map it had put BHP upto 253 then after remap upto 275BHP. I wish I'd put upgrade turbo on before remap as for £500 I didnt get as much increase in power as i thought I would! Now I gotta pay for 2nd remap (not as much I know but still) when I fit turbo.
Still torque curve was alot better n this is what you want for ragin round the country lanes!
