Ok, finally got around to messing about with my new toy, i'm having a look under the bonnet and it looks like nothing i've seen before.

Could anyone identify the points mentioned, and give me some idea what their function is.




What i know as a 'header tank' looks to be number 5, but not sure...

I just need to know what everything does basically! Anyone live around Kearsley, Bolton who can spend 10 mins pointing things out?!

1 I think is the ABS controller
2 Coolant header tank
3 Turbo heat shield
4 Intercooler
5 Coolant header tank overflow

 

3 is the cooling chimney for the turbo, directs air from the scoop down onto the turbo

4 is the intercooler, cools air coming from the turbo before it is forced into the engine

Not doing much really, ive had the car for a few weeks but not really got around to having a play.

I need to get an understanding of what does what in the engine bay.
