Default HELP! MOT Failure

Spent thousands on the car last year - new engine, steering rack and pump, hubs, and exhaust. So much spent that couldn't afford to keep on road so when MOT due in August car came off road and garaged.

MOT today and failed on exhaust emissions.

Mechanic saying lambda sensor missing - one is present, is there really a second because in exhaust is a wheel nut bolt!? Also no catalytic convertor!

With this being 1998 import would it have ever had a cat?

How much for a cat and fitting?

Looks like another year off road!

Yes it would have had a cat, and you wil never get it to pass normally without one

Your best bet is probably looking on eBay or SN for a standard Classic exhaust... unless you know a more friendly MOT garage

Fair play to mate.

Laptop - your refering to the lambda which should be on the downpipe i take it. You will need this unfortunately if you wana pass that MOT. I know everyone keeps saying this to you.

From what i can remember these cars actually came with 2 cats, 1 downpipe and the other centre pipe.
