Thumbs up What's best to start modding my STi??

Hi all, i'm new to this. Ive just bought an STi v4 from Japan and am just waiting on its arrival. While im waiting i was thinking of buying a few bits. Only thing is im not to sure where to start. I already have a dump valve (dont know where from).
I never drove an STi before but have had a couple of WRX's which have already been messed with.
I'm just after a direction to start in at the min.
Thanks for any help.

A turbo back exhaust system and a remap for uk fuel would be a good start, loads more obviously, just depends on your budget

Thanks. I'll have a look. Any other suggestions? Air filter? FCD? SAFC?

You may need a stronger clutch if you get it mapped, i needed one. Also may be worth putting a decent panel filter in your air box, got a k&n in mine, not worth fitting an induction kit till your over 350bhp.

Thanks again. I'm starting to get the swing of things i think. Think my car is standard JDM spec apart from coilovers and a turbo timer. All the pictures i have everything looks standard. Just seems to drag waiting for it to come!

Mine was imported brand new as a "grey import" in 1999. Still a minter after 10 years. Enjoy.

I am now in the process of re-Waxoyling the underside and slowly replacing the bushes and mounts. You may want to get yours undersealed, the Japs don't go in for it much.

un mapable needs standalone. big gains from decat and syatem mostly due to raised boost presure not exhaust its self. re drill brass restrictor in boost line to 1.1mm. should see 1.2 bar steady. cheers max

Brakes first (if you cant stop,no point in adding more power lol), suspension, clutch (depends on how worn it is), exhaust, filter etc.

You'll need a simtek or apexi (among others) unit for a re-map, only 99+ cars can be Ecutek'ed, should have stated that earlier.
