Default anyone have any good ideas on this

brought a closed deck block today which i am planing on stripping down, the problem i have is that the six bolts that sit in the water jackets that hold the two halfs together have corroed away and i can't get a socket on them to undo them, anyone have any ideas on how to get them out,did think about drilling them but i think that might be very trickey,

Are you using the right socket size which is a 12mm 12 point socket ?
If the bolt heads are badly corroded, then try a 11mm socket tapped onto the bolt heads to remove them.
Last resort would be to drill the heads off with a long series drill bit but i have never had to resort to this method as the 11mm socket normally works.
