Default nobody cleans the Blob Boost solenoid?

I have been looking for information on where about and how to clean the boost solenoid on a Blobeye STi. I can't find much info about how to do it on a newage, so I just wondering whether or not it need cleaning like on the classic. thx

Hi mate, you can purge it, which will clean it.
Connect the green conectors under the dash and switch your ignition on and you will hear it clean itself.

I did mine recently (05 wrx) using the green connectors. Disconnect the hoses from the solenoid, remembering where they go and then turn ignition on (not starting the engine..!) and squirt some brake/carb cleaner into the ports. Have solenoid sitting on a rag to catch over spill..

Allow to run a few seconds longer, without any cleaner. Turn ignition off and reconnect hoses, job done.

Idle control valve can be done in the same way. See NASIOC for very concise guide.

I use Carb Cleaner made by Comma and works a treat.

as far as I'm aware the bug should be the same as the blob. Therefore the boost solenoid is attached to the front of the drivers side suspension turret via a thin black metal bracket.

Clean as above.
