Default Advice on Future mods out of ideas

Hey guys

I currently have the following

2002 STI no PPP full decat, APS 65mm induction kit, walbro fuel pump, Ecutek remap

with that it RR @ 364.5 bhp 360 ft lb which some say seems high for the mods but was done on a proven road at a decent garage.

I'm a little stumped on what i should go for to reach nearer 400?

Initial things i guess is a FMIC? but what affect would an up pipe have?

Looking for ideas on what else

Turbo would be last on the last for now. Injectors would be fine as i have the map what CC should i be looking at?

Also regarding the headers and the Up pipe 1, where would i be looking at getting those bits. I've noticed the up pipe isn't a very expensive part either.

2, What function does the up pipe have? i take it they come catted as standard?

And also what is the main fuction of the headers. orry to be so vauge so wondering what gains i'll get and where it will be noticed

Thanks

Hi Brockett,

good results, The STI up-pipe doesn't have a cat in it !

The next step would have to be tubular manifold (headers) and up-pipe, mine came from Mark @ Lateral Performance.
This should improve mid-range torque and top end power. Basically the heavy cast manifold fitted as standard is cheap and durable, whereas tubular manifolds are expensive and less durable.
imho you are getting towards the maximum the standard turbo can manage.

You need to decide if you are going to chase (expensively !) ever higher numbers, yours is a good figure for a road car.

Hi Dunx

Regarding headers just in discussion with Harvey (email) as i type

I honestly never intended to go this far but i was amazed at what the car put out with what modifications. I would prefere not to go spending thousands on getting a high Bhp figure as i would still need some funds for some exterior parts in the future.

But from what i gather headers and up pipe are around the £400 mark so depending on what output that would give me i think for the time being would put me where i wanna be.

Any ideas on what gains could be expected from new Up pipe / headers?

I think after that would be what V5RVLTD said FMIC, Injectors and Bigger Turbo. Then god only knows what gains that would being. But also i'd have to start looking at changing internal parts wouldn't i?
