ok so thats my car back together with new silicone inlet pipe, fmic fitted along with new heater/radiator hose kit and turbosmart vee port on fmic piping
took out on test run drives and boosts fine but really loud noise fron induction as change gear/let off pedal sounds sort of like sshhh shhh shhh shh lol you know what i mean never done that before is this normal or is there a problem???? please ill be worried till i know for deff anyone!!!

 

anyone know then?? although i done alot of stuff the only real changes are the fmic,the veeport that doesint seem to do much? and the silicone inlet hose!!!?????

 

Sounds like wastegate surge/chatter to me?

Isn't the # tsssssh # simply the noise of the vented air being jettisoned by your new Veeport vent-to-air style dump valve, when suddenly closing the throttle between gear changes?

If so, all entirely normal.

 

na its not joz as when sitting idle with bonnet open the veeport piston only opens when reaaalllyy rev it the noise is deff coming from the induction cone?? and also whats wastegate chatter??

 

i think its your veeport, losein it a turn or but the standid one back on. thimk its not letin the boost out when u let off, and it comein back tho your turbo.

it sounds just like the clip that you posted of cnners car vltd except maybe a wee bit more agressive lol just sounded like nothing i heard before so was worried?? so its ment to do that then after fmic install?

 

That is a normal sound when you have an induction filter fitted - mine does the same. Nothing to worry about.

 

its just cause it didint make the noise before i fitted the fmic etc as i already had the induction kit on never really heard it and i cant stick the old valve back on as it was recirculating and attached to tmic i have fitted the fmic with piping that has the t piece for vta valve already in it so had no option really cant put old back on if your all sure this is normal ill leave it but dont want to be doing any damage etc if somethings not right?

 

Most people are desperately trying to make their cars do this, mine does !

Mine makes that noise no I have fitted a larger TMIC and a GGR induction kit (K&N filter). It is just the noise of the recirc being heard through the induction kit as it is no longer silenced on mine. It will soon be louder when I fit my new GFB dump valve.

Also, I can hear the turbo whine more clearly, and the general induction noise is louder

 

just seems mental eh this noise is that loud lol i drowns out the dump valve id be better we out it canny hear it!! and cost me £160 stupid valve its adjustable but theres no guide or mark anywhere as to how much either way it will go so bit wary of that as well lol can you guess its ma first job on a scooby lol

okc thanks for that ill have a play with it lol im sure i have it nearly right round for loudest noise and still only goes off i you rev the total **** out it personally i thought would have went easier than that but never mind

 

so what exactly causes this noise to come out of the cone filter when it did not do it before i would like to know??
