Default ecu

can you put an ecu from a more powerful engine ie. wrx import or sti into a uk turbo its all a bit confusing cheers.

hi, no you can't. Firstly it wouldn't fit, its very different.

What year uk model you got? You can increase the power somewhat by changing the exhaust, panel filter and with a sports cat/de cat.

An ecuTek remap would then typically see a uk car around the 265hp mark, same as the import wrx.

you trying to get that car faster for the tunnel run roger the answer is a you will blow it up decat map etc

They will fit (any 3 plug ecu will fit any other 3 plug car and the same for the 4 plug ecus BUT there are so many variances in turbos and actual engine specifics (cams,heads etc) that although it may fit actually running the car is another matter.

cheers guys just learning.i have a full decat and up pipe my car is a 97 it also has a pipercross carbon induction kit with cold air feed its fast enough at the moment.

if you want more power safely thenyour only option at the mo is a remappable ecu such as the Apexi power fc or simtek have a look here for other options www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk

would my car benefit from resetting the ecu. ie. mods fuel etc ?
