Default What is this sensor and what does it do??

Tryed to draw it as best as i can lol its the sensor that sits at the back of the inlet manifold just below the throttle body on my Ver5 STI

There are 2x vacum like pipes that go to the green joints as seen on pic and one pipe goes to the top off the manifold next to the pipe that goes from the dump valve and the other goes underneath the manifold to a pipe that runs along the fuel pipes

Oh and by the way im useless on paint

many thanks

Looks like the fuel purge solenoid.

It would have been quicker to take a picture, but then we would have missed out on your CAD skills

indeed!!

Whats happened is the 2 green pipes have snapped of this unit and we saw the 2 pipes with the green bits sticking in the ends so we thort it was a straight line connecter that had snapped so theres us connecting them into one continuous pipe so basically blanking this soenoid completely off...

Would that stop the car from starting?

As it wont start and i am trying to diognose the proplem.

Many thanks
