Default Tappets???

starting to get a ticking noise coming from the passengers side front cam cover, i have been told by mates its a tappet that needs adjusting. its only coming from the one side of the engine and more to the front. just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how much it will cost 2 fix? of if its a job i can do as im pretty good with cars.

cheers

It might also be an exhaust gas leak from the manifold/head joint (makes a ticking noise) and check the spark plugs are tight (distinctive ticking noise when loose).
If the tappets do need adjusting, you have Outer Shim buckets so no need to remove the cams to re-shim.

You need a Special Service Tool to depress the bucket in order to remove the shim so not really mate - check the other stuff first before doing the tappets.

Daft as it sounds, it could be something as simple as the plug lead is loose on that cylinder.

We feared the worst on my mates and it turned out to be that. LOL
