Default Emissions Failure

Hello All,

Have a standard 1999 Turbo 2000. My car has just failed mot on emissions.
It passed on normal idle speed but on fast idle test has failed 2 times on this.
Says on test sheet that lambda result was failure twice so have told me lambda is at fault but could also be coolant temp sensor as well.
There has been no cel lights come on but i feel the car is not as sharp as was.

Anyone else had this on your cars? Thanks for your help.

just had the same failure on my car, which is the same as urs. turned out to be the lambda sensor, one listed for the car, on the down pipe just behind the turbo. One gararge quoted £165 + vat, but got it changed at another garage who quoted £112, but eventually got the part for £98 +vat. sailed through the MOT after.

No cel light come on for me either. But it was the lambda sensor for me.
