The Simtek has a number of advantages, dropping the MAF for example, as well as charge temp monitoring and correction, excellent wastegate control, switchable maps on the fly etc. There is always a market for a used Apexi for a budget conversion for someone, so it may not cost that much overall! We supply fit and map the '99 type Simtek for £1095 inc vat.

Alan thx for the rresponse Does that mean it would be able to keep the engine temp a bit more under control? Current map does suffer from a lot of heat on track even with the oil cooler etc.

Your temperatures are determined by engine condition/spec and the map itself. Changing from one ECU to another has no effect on temperatures but the actual map can have a big effect as can your actual installation.
