Default Mystery solenoid

Does anyone know what the solenoid between the inlet manifold and MAP sensor does? It seems to vent to atmosphere but I can’t understand when it or why it would need to do this

Subaru call it the: "Pressure sources switching solenoid value" in their ECU pinout.

Thanks

Don't worry, I eventually found the answer on NASIOC

It allows the ECU to flick between sensing atmospheric pressure and manifold pressure.
