Help occasionla Cutting out and MOT tomorrow...
as above on occasion the check engine light doesnt come on and so car wont start, and randomly has come back on at a later attempt.
Then driving along probably 20 plus times in total now the car has cut out, and the check engine light doesnt come on, so car wont start, but hen if i reach around the kick plate and literally touch the frist two wires i can feel, it comes back on and can drive off again.
Sometimes it goes 24 hours fine. often in the morning check engine wont be on till i brush those wires, or even move kick plate and it works.
when car is hot after a lot of drivcing it never does it, only when first starting, or when warming up.
now i cant see that any of the wires are loose after taking ecu out.
i have a chip fitted where i had to cut resitor J1.
anyone got any ideas or suggestions? im leaving the car at mot'ers in the morning and he probably wont even get it started

you have you own answer id say, those first two wires must be too loose,
Disconnect your battery before you do anywork on the ecu !
Have a look at the cars wiring loom plugs, see if all the connections(especially the 2 you mentioned) are nice and tight, or see if u can close the spade part up a little see if it makes a better contact the,
it maybe that the ecu has been in and out a few times and the female part(cars loom) is a little warn,
hope that makes sense.

yea that does make sense, will check thqawt tonight, jsut found it really odd that it came back on once, without even being tounched or car shook or anything.
ive got some contact cleaner, is it worth using some of that on the female parts?
