Question Help with Turbo Inlet Pipe needed...!

Hey up everyone, Im installing an Oil Catch Can shortly on my MY05 WRX, I found this photo of an aftermarket Turbo inlet pipe showing the various routes plumbed into it, I need some help identifying where they connect to on the engine and which can be blocked and / or routed into the Catch Can.

The ones in red are the ones I 'think' are blocked off in the inlet and re-routed from the engine to the catch can. If someone can confirm this it would be much appreciated.

The ones in green, could someone tell me where these connect to and if they can be blocked or re-routed to the Catch can.

Im trying to eliminate as many 'non-clean air' routes into the intake as possible.

Thanks guys and gals.

3 - recirc dump valve. Don't block off
4 - divert from boost solenoid. Don't change
5 - petrol fume dump from carbon canister. Don't change.

1 - vent from heads
2 - vent from crankcase

Need to know more about the catch can set up before saying whether these are blocked off.

Cheers Nick,

Im looking at routing the Heads vent from the engine to the catch can and the same for the Crankcase.

How many vents are there on the engine from the Heads and Crankcase? Is it 1 each or are there 2 Heads vents?

Where and what is the carbon canister on the car?

I wont be re-inputting the air from the catch can back into the inlet. Im looking at getting a 3 port inlet catch can, 2 for inlets and the 3rd as an outlet to the atmosphere with a small breather filter on the end. Probably route the catch can outlet down underneath the car somewhere near the radiator.

On the 05 2.0 litre car there is a vent from each head that joins together at the pipework on the front of the intercooler and then goes into connection no. 1.
The single crankcase vent can go either to the inlet manifold (off boost) or to connection no. 2 (boost), due to the action of the PCV valve.

The carbon canister on a newage car is under the drivers rear of the car and is a sort of black flat box shape.
Your plan sounds fine - just block off 1 & 2 plus the PCV valve on rear back of inlet manifold & leave the other inlet connections alone.

Just buy the silicon inlet in the breather delete version....

P.S. Boost solenoid outlet is just left hangiing. May run a tiny bit richer.

Cheers guys, I have been reading a few posts on the forums and some peeps say you should always re-route the catch can outlet (clean) air back into the inlet pipe to preserve a sealed system or vacuum effect. Venting the catch can to the atmosphere means there is no vacuum pressure in the Crankcase and the Heads. What is best, VTA or Route back in?

This may sound a really silly question but you would have to make sure you check your catch can regularly as if it filled up you would flood the inlet / turbo / intake manifold and eventually the engine with oil! Am i right in thinking this?

Thanks for all the advice peeps!
