I think this happens if the car isnt a daily user, as moist/water, well stay in contact longer.

My manifold is heat wrapped and only use the car once every 2 weeks, when i start it up steam always comes from them so must hold moisture in there,

I'd say its better to use it every day with heat wrap as the moisture would be burnt off,

I thought you can get some hi temp paint to seal the wrap once fitted, to stop water ingress? Been thinking of doing mine, but it's a lot of hastle to remove/refit them. Are the benifits worth it?

if the engine bay temps will be decreased alot then it should be worth it as the intercooler will suffer less heat soak
