Hi guys,
I have a MY00 forester and have tried to fit an Impreza MY00 ecu into it, it will start for few seconds and then stall, I understand that the forester relies on the immobiliser and the impreza doesn't, meaning you can fit the forester ecu into the impreza no problem.
Does anyone know if their is a way round this, i.e can you flash a JDM forester image onto the impreza ecu as the JDM forester doesn't use the immobiliser?

You cannot flash an Impreza ROM into a Forester ECU or vice versa.

Likewise you cannot flash a JDM ROM into a UK ECU or vice versa.

Is your car a JDM or a UK? There is an immobiliser on both the MY00 UK Impreza and MY00 UK Forester.

Mine is a MY00 uk s turbo, I am AP on SF.org who is having boost control problems in 3rd, I thought if I can find a way round putting an impreza ecu into it then I could get my map flashed onto that.
