Default dump valve triggers CEL??????????????

HI There

can anyone tell me if im goin made or not .
the other day i fitted a spare forge dump valve to my97 2000 turbo ,was ok for ten mins then started tickin over like a sack of sh1te. stripped down dv to find lower spring had broken , ne way 1 email to forge later and service kit arrived free of charge(which was nice) serviced and refited dv , later in the day whilst drivin CEL came on for couple of mins then went off. later again went to shop (10min drive) CEL wason all the way there, did not come on once on journey home.
also the tishhhh as i call it is really short. could this all be caused be the wrong tension spring in the dv.

i thought it could be the upper spring tension being to tight and returning the piston to quick. i know the do for springs for dif presure.

First thing would be to check the fault code stored in your ECU.

Well, what i've tried tonight is: Disconnect the battery terminals (negative and live) then place them together and leave overnight this will reset the ECU..... reconnect the terminals back together and that should do it! I hope.... I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow if you like.. see if it's worked on mine!
