A couple of questions from a newbie
1. I was wondering how you get the turbo fluttering noise from an Impreza?, if I removed the dump valve and replaced the factory recirculating valve and then fitted an induction kit would I get it, I love the sound and reminds me of the rally 555's.
2. Can you safely remove the blanking plates from the outer bonnet vents?, I would imagine these would help reduce the under bonnet engine temp, but is the engine then vulnerable to water ingress?, my car is a garage queen and does not come out in the rain, but it is washed regularly!!

If you remove the dumb valve, and blank it off (depending what turbo you've got), then get a Cold air intake, you'll get a real nice flutter.

How do you blank off the valve totally, I thought the pressure had to go somewhere?, I am new to forced induction so excuse my ignorance.

The pressure goes back through the turbo and back out of the air intake filter.
Depending what turbo you have though, it may not be strong enough.
