Default london advice

Hi Guys,

I just purchased my first scooby. A stock standard 1997 sti type r straight from japan.
I have only lived in the uk for less than a year and don't know anyone else that's into cars.

A few months ago I found most of the answers to my questions but have had trouble finding them again on the site lately. If anyone could help with the following questions it would be greatly appreciated.

1. any recommended tuners within 40 miles of london? I saw one from here before that had "package" upgrades but can't find them anymore.

2. with a £1500 budget, what would be the first mods to do with this car. (I've always had skylines so the boost and intercooler is always first on the list).

Any sites (other than this one or ebay) that you can recommend for finding second hand parts?

Sorry to be asking questions that Im sure have all been answered many times before but as I've said, I am having trouble finding some old posts.

Thanks in advance.

also... www.ecutek.com
They are in Uxbridge

Based on reading and not actual experience, I would recommend the following -

1) Induction kit
2) Upgraded exhaust
3) Decat
4) Remap

Some helpful info here Subaru4you - Performance Upgrades

Zen Performance are not too far from London and would be able to cater for most of your needs. For £1500 you should be able to get an exhaust system, FMIC and fuelling sorted, however will need a bit more for a remap.

Cheapest option for a remap would be 2nd hand Apexi and getting it remapped.

Would be easliy enough to max out your current turbo and be a great road car, especially with the Type R gearing.

Doesn't it make more sense to get the extras on first and then get a remap? Otherwise you end up forking out twice for the remap

Tyres | Discount Car Tyres | Wheels | Alloy Wheels | Wheel Alignment | Wheel Balancing are pretty good. They are in Rainham, Essex....about 10 miles East of London down the A13

Hayward and Scott are in Basildon.

Top quality systems and they'll fit it while you wait as well.

cool thanks. Ok well I will go and get an air intake and exhaust. I gather I will need to get it retuned as soon as this is done? will that just by itself give a noticeable difference in performance?
