Good advice from Banny, but I suggest you speak to someone like David at APi for advice on the parts needed and likely costs. Many people simply underestimate the costs involved with getting a reliable 400bhp out of a scooby. It's not just the cost of the engine, at that level you'll need lots of supporting mods, such as injectors, FMIC, bigger turbo, ECU...the list goes on! At that level, you're also looking at a new gearbox realistically as well, as the torque will most likely kill the std 5 speed before long. If your suspension and brakes are std, they'll need uprating too.

VF34 is a good quick spooling turbo imo and makes a great 350/350 road car, loo in my garage and you,ll see my mods on the V3 etc..

2.5l sti bottom end, have your existing heads re-machined, 20g turbo, apexi power fc, equal length headers you'll get close to 400 bhp plus better low end torque.

An Enginetuner 2.1 Stroker motor, Turbo Technics S206 turbo, Hybrid Front Mount, 740cc injectors, fuel pump, RCM headers and ind kit, SimTek management, 6 speed or PPG conversion, Helix organic twin plate clutch, bobs your uncle.

This won't be the cheapest option and of course everybody will have their own take on things.
