Speedo doing strange things!!

Hi All,

When i accelerate the speedo seems to be going up just as normal, however if i take my foot of the accelerator the speedo instantly drops to 0mph or about 20mph at the most,

Any Idea what is causing this?

would that be a case of stripping the cluster and having a look axgt??
