Default Fault code

Hi Guy,
I have a 03 WRX, just put a new Maf sensor on.
I took the car for a drive, just got out of my driveway the car strudders and stalls.
I plug in a diagnostic and it read P0172 Generic system too rich (bank 1 ).
Please can anyone tell me what it means, I will be greatfull.

Why did the car need a new MAF ? The Newage MAF is pretty robust.
